Following the hypnotizing single “Bruxos,” the queen of neo-kuduro proves once again that her levels are unmatched.
“Começa” draws inspiration from a sleepless night Pongo spent in a creative house. For this percussive and explosive track, the Angolan-Portuguese MC solicited the services of BGRZ (pronounced BANGERZ), a brilliant producer & pianist from Benin, and Thomas Broussard, the guitarist who has collaborated with Jamaican world beater Koffee. On fiery verses, she deals with haters and hails her “reign,” as well as referencing her obsession with Kuduro and her desire to move around and dance. In true egotrip spirit, she claims the crown of best performer, positioning herself as a true master of ceremony.
This status is underlined in the “Começa” visuals, which see the MC electrifying crowds on her European tour. Alongside her DJ and musicians, Pongo puts all her energy into the verses and her dance moves, in true kuduro fashion.
